The fan exhaust is an aperture at the back of the computer which expels warm air from inside the system. A fan circulates air from vents in the chassis, around the internal components to cool them off, and then out the back. It is important to keep the fan exhaust free from obstruction, so that the internal components are not damaged by overheating.
